It also focuses on working in unity with the ultimate goal of attaining regional autonomy and moving forward to recovery from the pandemic.

The DENR helps in the region's recovery through environmentally-sustainable development strategies and approaches. Also, it emphasizes strengthening resilience to the impacts of climate and integrating more ambitious policies to halt and reverse biodiversity loss and restore ecosystem services, including through nature-based solutions.

The Cordillera month celebration is to commemorate the founding anniversary of the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) through Executive Order No. 220 signed on July 15, 1987 as transition towards an Autonomous Region as mandated by the Constitution. The celebration aims to showcase the rich culture and history of the Cordillera and the unwavering spirit of the Cordillerans in pursuing regional autonomy.

CAR is composed of Apayo, Abra, Benguet, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Kalinga and Baguio City.|C. Sabangan
