An Isuzu elf 250 loaded with undocumented forest products was nabbed by the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office Lamut at around 01:30 AM on Sunday at Maitab, Poblacion West, Lagawe, Ifugao.
The conveyance, bearing plate number XEK 575, contained some 284 board feet of kantong (local name) lumber with an estimated value of P9,500.
It was driven by a certain Joel Nanglegan Mangallab, with six other companions as his passengers. They will be charged for violation of Presidential Decree No. 705, or the Revised Forestry Code for illegally transporting undocumented forest products.
As of writing, Mangallab and his companions are detained at Lagawe Municipal Station.
On the other hand, the apprehended conveyance and forest products have undergone inventory and scaling by Philippine National Police Lagawa Deputy Chief, PCPT Ken Bandao, and forest rangers Brian John Tubabon and Jordan Wacoy.
These shall be turned over to CENRO Lamut for proper documentation and administrative proceedings.
