The 14th Special Action Battalion /Force (SAF) – Philippine National Police headed by PLTCOL Melchor A. Buaquen and his team facilitated the training on “Basic Life Support and Self Defense Training” for the Forest Rangers, Forest Guards, Forest Protection Officers and assigned personnel in the Enforcement Section and other employees of CENRO Lamut who are willing to learn the advantages of being prepared and safe from any kind of harm during the of activities.
This training is needed and or required in the conduct of today’s critical situation not only in dealing with illegal timber poachers, personal foes and even from the wild animals in the forest.
Topics discussed include mountain search and rescue operations, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), dressing and bandaging, knot tying and application, emergency rescue and transfer, SAF foot works, arnis techniques, bladed techniques, disarming techniques and arrest techniques.
The training was really appropriate to equip the participants with basic knowledge, skills, and attitude to perform with confidence the basic life support techniques to save lives. PMSG Nicanor O. Anas emphasized that “SAFETY is as simple as ABC – “Always Be Careful” and or Seek, Aim, Follow, Ensure, Teach and Yield at all times. Knowing is not just enough. To practice and apply to everyone and everywhere is important.”
