DENR Apayao-CENRO Calanasan facilitates tree planting activities in Sta. Marcela, Pudtol and Luna, Apayao


“While there is rain, keep planting!” 

This motivated the DENR-CENRO Calanasan personnel to facilitate the tree planting activity in collaboration of the Philippine National Police (PNP), personnel of Sta. Marcela and Pudtol, Apayao and the students of Lower Maton Elementary School of Pudtol, Apayao in celebration of the 24th Police Community Relations Month and Nutrition Month respectively.  The PNP Sta. Marcela, Apayao conducted the tree planting within the premises of the Municipal Police Station at San Carlos, Sta. Marcela, Apayao while the PNP Pudtol, Apayao conducted similar activity within the said elementary school. As a result of such activities, a total of 150 seedlings were planted within the two identified areas with 100 mahogany and 50 narra trees.

Likewise, a tree planting activity was also conducted within the premises of Swan National Agricultural and Trade High School (SNATHS) of Swan Barangay of Pudtol, Apayao, as they celebrated Nutrition Month. The tree planting activity was also participated by some employees from the municipal government of Pudtol, barangay officials and some barangay residents, the faculties and students of SNATHS, and CENRO Calanasan personnel.  The group planted a total of 200 mahogany seedlings.

Further, some other CENRO Calanasan personnel joined the tree planting activity led and conducted by the Peoples Organization of the CBFM CARP of 2019 at municipality of Luna, Apayao. Barangay officials and students of Marag Valley Agricultural and Trade High School (MVATHS) actively plant trees which resulted to a total of 100 seedlings of narra, rambutan and lansones covering an area of one hectare.

The DENR CENRO Calanasan personnel suggested that the participants can adopt the trees they planted as their “legacy tree”.  As such, each of the participant should should continually visit the areas where they planted seedlings, take care of their plantations and ensure the survival of each seedling planted for the next generation.|C. Bokod, Benguet - Some lumber seized and hauled by the team of DENR – CAR, LGU Officials of Bokod, Benguet, some PNP Bokod and some other officials from the barangays of Bokod. According to CENR Officer Alejandro De Jesus, the forest products totaled to 107 pieces of Benguet Pine lumber with a volume of 326.33 board feet and specifically taken in Sitio Naubanan, Ekip, Bokod, Benguet, the head source of Bokod River.
